This early success of our capital campaign (nearly $60,000 in gifts raised in only four months!) recently prompted a pair of angel investors to offer our organization a loan for the remaining funds needed to purchase the property. With this funding, and the early gifts we received from the capital campaign, we closed on the property on January 11, 2021, and now, for the first time in our fifty-three-year history, Black Swamp Players is the very proud owner of its own brick-and-mortar structure!

We also recently learned that our organization has been allocated $200,000 in funding from the state capital budget to be used for capital improvements to the building. This funding will make an enormous dent in the many significant renovations that need to occur in the coming years in order to transform this church-cum-daycare into a functioning and vibrant performing arts venue. Planning already is under way to address our most pressing need: accessibility.

Meanwhile, our capital campaign is ongoing. Please consider a generous gift to Black Swamp Players. In addition to making the building accessible to all, your gift will allow us to update the lighting and sound systems so that we can continue to provide our community with the absolute best live theater experience possible. Please donate through our website or with a check mailed to PO Box 601, Bowling Green, OH 43402.
